Luther Atkins could be called the “father of KTCU.”
He never was on the air, but without him KTCU may never haven’t become an over-the-air broadcast station. To learn more about his story you have to go back a few years. Well, okay, several years. Many years. Writer Mark Wright has chronicled the story in this article for “The TCU Magazine.” Enjoy. Feel free to comment on our Facebook page Especially those of you who know Mr. Atkins, or others who’ve worked at KTCU over the years. Read more

Single Review: Tim McGraw – Better Than I Used To Be

Only hours after Tim McGraw emerged victorious in his lawsuit with Curb Records, a new single was released from his upcoming "Emotional Traffic" album called "Better Than I Used to Be," written by Ashley Gorley and Brian Simpson.
Going a completely different direction from his last #1 hit, "Felt Good On My Lips," the listener will instantly be able to ascertain McGraw's feeling of intimate remorse as the first verse begins: I know how to hold a grudge / I can send a bridge up in smoke / And I can't count the people I've let down, the hearts I've broke / You ain't gotta dig too deep / If you wanna find some dirt on me. As we continue to explore new ways to stay in touch with our listeners, our KTCU social media directors, Wendy and Steel, have put together a great new Tumblr page! It's packed with videos, interviews, and stories on music and the artists behind the songs. Not sure what www.tumblr.com is? Well it's sort of a cross between a website and Facebook. MUSIC WE ♥

The Orbans
Formed in 2008, The Orbans from Fort Worth, TX have combined a "do it yourself" indie attitude with a very unique style of pop music that is not afraid to show a little twang. They have played hundreds of shows, sharing the stage with the likes of Blues Traveler, Live, Cowboy Mouth, The Redwalls, and Ryan Bingham. The Orbans have released their first full length album, When We Were Wild, produced by Adam Lasus (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Clem Snide)

FEATURED CDs

Glen Campbell’s farewell CD
“Ghost on the Canvas.” He suffers from Alzheimer’s and this CD is a deep, Spiritual reflection on his life and a 50-year career.

Dangermuffin’s "Moonscapes" CD
is one that’s hard to Put into one genre. It’s jam band meets banjo, but better! It’s the first CD for the South Carolina-based band. Seafoam Tumbles is an outstanding song.

Wilco’s “The Whole Love” CD is out and contains as One reviewer put it: sprawling epics, crashing rockers and Pop nuggets. This CD is generating a lot of buzz and worth Checking out.
